MainStreet Empowerment & Housing Organization, Inc., (MEHO), is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization that provides emergency, transitional and affordable rental housing. We also provide assistance with utilities, food, clothing, transportation and various other resources necessary for the unemployed job-seeker or low-to-moderate income families to rebound from the loss of a job or housing.
In addition, MEHO provides social services in the areas of job training, education enrollment, small business start-up and credit repair assistance based on an evaluation and an assessment of need.
MEHO's mission is unique in that it provides emergency, transitional and affordable rental housing to families with children, women, veterans and victims of domestic violence, regardless of their credit score or income. MEHO's goal is to make our participant's transition as smooth as possible by providing clean, safe and affordable housing where they can bring all of their personal belongings instead of creating additional expenses for separate storage, unless they choose to do so.
MEHO's mission to provide emergency, transitional and affordable rental housing is also unique because it's based on a participant's realistic ability to pay, or not. This allows participants the time they need to save money, get a new job, enroll in school, start a new business, and to focus on their next step without having to worry about living in below standard conditions or going without basic necessities.
